Ant' man had his this past Friday. We weighs 31 lbs of solid muscle (not lyin') and is exactly 36 inches tall. He is in the 80th percentile for height and weight. I believe his head was 48 centimeters?? I could be wrong, this is from memory.:)
He was an absolute angel at the doctor office. He just stood there and allowed to the doctor to check his eyes, ears, heart, and mouth without even being in my arms. *do you hear some whimpering? if so don't panic, it is just me cryin' cuz my lil guy is growing up:(* I was glad to find out he wasn't due for any vaccinations. However, I did opt to get him a flu shot.
The doctor left and in came the nurse to give my son the shot. I was kind of dreading it even though he always did so well with shots, but this time he was older and more "aware". That intimidated me some. Though, my lil guy sure did surprise me. The nurse gave him the shot and this is how my son reacted:
"Momma, I got an owie!"
No tears, no whimpering, no flinching, NOTHING... the nurse laughed at his reaction as did I. He said he never, in all his years of doing this, has had a child react to shot that way.
At the visit he received a book. They do this as part of a literacy program. He already had this book (The Wheels on The Bus), but from a different author. He graciously accepted it and upon our departure informed me, "Momma, I got a book and an owie!" I stopped in my tracks, scooped him up, and planted the biggest kiss on him. He is just too stinkin' cute!
I think I will tuck this away into those cherished memories.
Do you have any memorable moments at a doctor visit with your kids?
